IOS 5.1 Is Said To Improve Siri And iOS 5.0.2 Will Cure Battery Life Issues
Last week iOS 5.0.1 was released in attempt to cure the mediocre battery life that was introduced to iDevice with the release of iOS 5. Unfortunately, for many users, this software update did not fix the battery life issues on their iOS 5 devices; despite Apple claiming that the issues would be fixed.
Fast forwarding to this week, and Macerkopf is reporting that Apple is going to release yet another firmware (iOS 5.0.2) to attempt to fix the remaining iOS 5 battery life bugs. Whether or not this update is going to fix the issue(s) once and for all isn’t known at this time, but according to the report, this update is said to extend the iOS battery life to 40 hours of standby and 10 hours of usage. With my tests, my iPhone 4S on iOS 5.0.1 often dies with about five hours of usage and around 10-12 hours of standby time.
Moving along to the second software update scheduled for the near future: iOS 5.1. According to Macerkopf, this update is scheduled to introduce updates to Siri on the iPhone 4S. Currently, Siri doesn’t allow users to access controls like adjusting WiFi, airplane mode, snapping pictures, and opening applications – however, with iOS 5.1, Siri will be able to do all of that and then some!
Stay tuned for future updates on iOS 5.0.2 and iOS 5.1!

Kids Want Either The iPad, iPod Touch, Or The iPhone More Than Anything Else This Holiday Season
According to Nielsen’s recent survey, kids ages 6-12 in the U.S. are starstruck for Apple gadgets. The iPad passed up the iPhone and all other devices with 44% of the kids surveyed showing an interest in Apple’s extremely popular tablet – what a shocker! Surprisingly, the iPod Touch was actually the second most wanted device outweighing the iPhone by only 3%.
Obviously as the demographic shifts towards an older age, these numbers will be skewed – however, it’s still impressive to see how much of a reach Apple’s products have with such a low age group.
Let us know what you think about Apple and the world’s obsession with their products in the comment section and stay tuned for more Apple related news!

The Apple “iBox” Is One Artist’s Interpretation Of What The iTV Will Be
Since the release of Steve Jobs’ official biography, numerous online media outlets have been speculating what Steve Jobs meant when he said “I’ve finally cracked it” (in regards to the next generation of TVs and living room entertainment).
It’s safe to assume that the executives and engineers at Apple plan to continue with Steve’s TV breakthrough, and artists have certainly jumped onboard with the “iTV” concept. However, until now, there hasn’t really been a concept that’s as head turning as the new “iBox” concept that was concocted by the artists at ADR Studio.

With today’s release of iOS 5.0.1 and pod2g’s warning about updating to the new firmware, many people are wondering when an untethered Jailbreak will be out and what firmware(s) it will support. Unfortunately, the answer is rather simple, the yet-to-be-released untethered Jailbreak will only support iOS 5 and not iOS 5.0.1 (as mentioned yesterday by pod2g).
